The Climb

About a month ago some of us gals went to a girls night rock climbing and cookie exchange event at Vertical Adventures. It was the first time I had personally experienced rock climbing and it was so much more than I expected. 

Watching some of the girls climb up first - they made it look like a piece of cake. I admired their bravery and strength. Once I finally had my turn, I admired them even more...because it was NOT easy! 

I remember my entire upper body shaking and my arms felt as if they were on fire when I was only half way up the wall. Not only had the experience become a physical moment to overcome...but a mental one too. Part of me wanted to give up and drop back down to the ground, but the other part of me screamed "If these badass betches can do it, I can too"! With Laura by my side on the wall and Katie, Kate, and Candee back on the ground cheering me on...I made my way up to the top. 

Confidence in anything we do isn't just gained all at once. It's little moments of empowerment like this that make such a difference in another person's life. It's amazing to be part of such an amazing Girl Gang!
